Mail from applications and improved deliverability (SPF Records DKIM keys)

Sometimes you have to send a mail from a server that is not your mail server (ie an application server).

To make sure big ISPs know you are doing the right thing, you have to set up SPF records - see http://www.openspf.org/SPF_Record_Syntax

This will then ensure that your application server is permitted to send on behalf of the proper mail domain.

Most common is if you use a EDM provider; there is a good write up here at Campaign Monitor http://help.campaignmonitor.com/topic.aspx?t=88
